(This honor does not come with any typical rights of citizenship, but does sometimes come with a pretty cool pseudo-passport, as seen here.) Lafayette and four others -- Casimir Pulaski, Raoul Wallenberg, William Penn and his second wife, Hannah Callowhill Penn -- have received the honor posthumously. Two others have been so honored while still alive: Mother Theresa and Winston Churchill.
