If you're looking for a clever way to keep your drinks cold here's a solution: A solid block of ice in which you can hold bottles or cans.
Just fill some bottles with sand, place them in a tub with some water and freeze them. Once it's frozen, you can dump out the sand and fill the bottles with warm water to dislodge them.
Afterward, you can store the block in the freezer, and put your beer bottles in the empty holes when it's time to use it. Since the bottles you place in the caddy will be completely surrounded by ice, it should do a better job of keeping them cooler than regular ice cubes—since more of the ice's surface area will be in contact with them. Not only that, but it makes for a great conversation starter.
