WANT TO CHANGE YOU BANK? HERE'S HELP

Are you getting the most out of your bank? Web site FindABetterBank lets you select the features you want in a bank, then gives you a list of banks that most closely fill your needs.

When using the site, the first option you're asked to provide is location. Having a bank that is right around the corner can be the deal breaker for some. Once you enter your zip code, you're able to refine the search—the site covers 52,000 branch locations in the U.S.—to include banks up to 50 miles away.

To further refine the search, you're next options are geared towards features and fees. Looking for a checking account that earns interest? Want to be prepared for an accidental overdraft? Is mobile banking a must? This is where you set your standards—Don't care, Nice to have, or Must have.

The fees section gets a little more personal. You'll find questions asking if you use direct deposit for a paycheck, what your minimum balance is in a typical month, how often you withdraw at an ATM, and how often have you overdrawn in the last year.

After submitting your selections, FindABetterBank displays a breakdown of the checking accounts and banks that scored closest to what you want. With sortable columns, detailed information, and full page summaries—including contact info and a closest locations map—for each bank, deciding where to bank just got that much easier.
