(projectcure.org) enables doctorsaround the world to treat diseases, delivervaccines, ensure safe childbirth, and perform lifesaving surgeries. Founded in 1987, Project C.U.R.E. now operates out of large distribution centers in four states, collecting surplus medical supplies from hundreds of U.S. hospitals and manufacturers and then shipping them to hospitals, clinics, and community health centers in more than 130 different countries. Every week, thousands of Project C.U.R.E. volunteers work to ship two or three 40-foot cargo containers from its warehouses, each containing about $400,000 worth of supplies. Last year alone, the organization delivered more than $53 million in medical supplies and equipment.
