A Louisville couple confronted at a Wal-Mart for alleged shoplifting fled the store, leaving behind their two kids, a 3-year-old and an 18-month-old, police say.
Police
said 20-year-old Michael Kaufman had taken a cellphone Thursday night
and tried to take a tablet computer, destroying the attached display in
the process, the Associated Press reports.
Officers said
19-year-old Kelsey Grobmeier had hidden makeup under a baby car seat.
Confronted by security personnel, the pair fled -- without their two
kids.
According to arrest records, Grobmeier returned to the store about an hour later to retrieve the children, WLKY reports.
They were each charged with theft, criminal trespassing and endangering the welfare of a minor.
