1965:About 3,500 Marines land in South Vietnam, the first time U.S. combat troops have entered mainland Asia since the Korean War

1884:
Susan B. Anthony appears before Congress to ask for a constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote.

1971: Frank Sinatra takes photos for Life magazine of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in the “fight of the century.” Frazier wins.
