They'll be wearing Mao tunic suits, also called zhongshan suits, alongside vintage tweed, mirroring London's Tweed Run, which for the last five years has enticed urban hipsters to don knickers and weave through London traffic.
The term zhongshan suit (in full, Zhongshan zhuang) for "Mao suit" actually means "[Sun] Yat-sen suit." The jacket-and-pants combination was supposedly influenced by Japanese college uniforms, since Sun Yat-sen had spent time as a student in Japan.
