How do you visualize the threat of non-organic packaging waste? A giant tentacled monster made of trash is one way to do it. The sculpture was constructed with 40,000 plastic bags, 7,500 plastic cups and an assortment of other trash all collected from around the town of Ljubljana. The tentacles spread throughout the city streets, creating quite a striking piece of artwork with a powerful message.
Of course, I imagine the artist/environmentalists in Slovenia who made this wonderful creation probably didn’t mean to make him so darn cute. After all, it’s hard to take the trash-monsters-are-taking-over-the-world message seriously when the evil mutants don’t look at all intimidating.
