TUNE IN TONIGHT

THE WAR OF THE WORLDS

TCM, 8 p.m. ET

This 1953 version of the H.G. Wells story, presented decades after Orson Welles’ panic-inducing radio play but decades before Steven Spielberg’s nothing-inducing movie. Gene Barry stars in this one, and the flying alien ships alone are worth tuning in to see. They’re like green-glowing geese.
