GENUINE SPORTSMANSHIP
Sportsmanship trumped all during a Florida college softball game last week. After an Eckerd College batter hit a game-winning home run but then struggled to round the bases due to a knee injury, her opponents lent a hand. “It wasn’t until she got to the middle of first and second base that I realized she was sobbing,” said Florida Southern College pitcher Chelsea Oglevie, who along with a teammate carried their injured competitor around the diamond. “I didn’t know how to react” Oglevie said. “All I knew is we were doing the right thing.”
