The inescapable buzz word in retailing is "omnichannel," a term that is meant to signify a seamless integration of brick and mortar stores with online and mobile commerce.

The term "omnichannel" is an update of the term "bricks and clicks," referring to a strategy in which retail stores tried to provide an integrated experience across their physical stores (the bricks) and online outlets (the clicks). Some also added "flips" (paper catalogs).
