COLD FEET, CHILLY MARRIAGE


Lots of people have doubts before walking down the aisle, but women should pay especially close attention to them, a study suggests. (click below to read more)


In a study of 232 couples, female doubts before a wedding implied a higher likelihood of divorce than did male doubts, even after controlling for a history of parental divorce and other factors.

The study found that 47% of husbands and 38% of wives reported uncertainty or hesitation before tying the knot. Of the female doubters, 19% were divorced four years later, versus 8% of the women without doubts. For husbands, the rates were 14% versus 9%. So for both wives and husbands, doubt predicted more divorce. But it was a bigger red flag for wives.
