1867:The largest of the World's Fairs, France's "Exposition Universelle", opens in Paris

1975:Future Hall of Famer Frank Robinson becomes Major League Baseball's first black player-manager. On this Opening Day, he puts himself into the game as a designated hitter and slams a home run as his Cleveland Indians defeat the New York Yankees, 5-3.

1969: The New York Mets meet the Montreal Expos for the first international game of Major League Baseball, at Shea Stadium in New York. The Expos beat the Mets 11-10.

1974: Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves hits his 715th career home run, breaking Babe Ruth's 39-year record, during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.
