TUNE IN TONIGHT

LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN
CBS, 11:35 p.m. ET
Hooray for another holiday tradition, the annual presentation of which was interrupted two years ago by the writers’ strike. But here we go again, with another new offering of a goofy but wonderful Christmas rite. Jay Thomas tells his “Lone Ranger” story, he and Letterman try and knock a giant meatball off the top of a Christmas tree with a football, and Darlene Love shows up to sing, once again, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Don’t miss it.
