1903:Orville Wright is the first to successfully pilot an airplane, staying in the air for a whole 12 seconds as his brother, Wilbur, monitors from the ground near Kitty Hawk, N.C.

1933: The Chicago Bears become the first NFL champions after they slip by the New York Giants 23-21 in the official title game at Wrigley Field.

1969: Tiny Tim marries Miss Vicki on NBC’s Tonight Show.
