1773:Dressed as Mohawk Indians, a group of Bostonians board British ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor.

1944: A quarter of a million German soldiers charge Allied lines, beginning the Battle of the Bulge.

1973: O.J. Simpson becomes the first NFL running back to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season, and the only one to gain that many yards in 14 games.
