THE FIRST WORD

DART rate
Nonfatal injuries are measured in terms of those serious enough to cause days away from work, transfers to a different job or restrictions on work—a gauge known as the DART rate.
DART stands for "days away, restricted, or transferred." The acronym replaced the LWDII: the Lost Workday Injury and Illness rate.
