glocal
Mr. Nicholson coined the useful term "glocal" to describe various nationalistic strands of jazz that are at once global and local in their conception.
The word "glocalization" has been used to mean the process of making a global product (such as potato chips) fit a local market (with local-favorite flavors, such as crab-flavored chips in Russia and Worcestershire-sauce-flavored "crisps" in England).
