CHARITY OF THE WEEK
Fractured Atlas (fracturedatlas.org) enables artists and arts organizations to devote more of their time to artistic creation by helping them better master administrative and business tasks. The organization makes no judgments about the merits of any art, and caters to artists across every discipline, including the visual and literary arts, music, theater, dance, film, and design. Its online resources, which artists pay a membership fee to access, provide tools to make it easier for artists to raise funds, get publicity, network, and sell tickets to events. Fractured Atlas also works with insurance companies to secure high-quality coverage for artists at much lower rates than would otherwise be possible. The organization has supported some 250,000 artists and groups in the last decade.
This charity has earned a four-star overall rating from Charity Navigator, which ranks not-for-profit organizations on the strength of their finances, their control of administrative and fund-raising expenses, and the transparency of their operations. Four stars is the group’s highest ranking.
