I have been a Rotarian since 1990 and was invited in a very hectic period in my life. Job and family took my time and I had just started my own business. I had never heard about Rotary before and was curious and went on some meeting. Club members welcomed me and meetings every Monday 18.00 was like a good break for me. I met new people with other occupations and the club had interesting speakers. Many years passed and I was still busy at work. Not before I was elected club President I started to learn more about Rotary. Question starting with: Why I am a Rotarian should now be: Why I still am a Rotarian. I have this last ten years been more involved in Rotary and member of different District Committees. From Assistant Governor, Trainer, and now District Youth Exchange Officer. Last nominated as District Governor for 2011 – 2012. Life after I retired some years ago has been filled with interesting tasks. I have met some wonderful people and had a chance to use my skills for Rotary. I got to learn what Rotary does and about the different programs. This is main reason I still am a member of Rotary and value the membership so much. |
