Preparing for a district leadership role begins long before the start of the Rotary year on 1 July. From 16 to 22 January, all incoming district governors attend the International Assembly, a training event in San Diego, California, USA.
Through the workshops and plenary sessions at the assembly, the district governors-elect learn information that will assist them in leading and guiding the clubs in their area during their year as governor.
