I CAN ONLY IMAGINE

A British man who threw away an old computer hard drive realized later that it was loaded with $7.5 million worth of Bitcoins. James Howells, 28, accumulated 7,500 Bitcoins in 2009, when the online currency was worth almost nothing, and soon forgot about them. During a cleanup this summer, he tossed out a hard drive containing the digital key needed to unlock his stash, and only realized his mistake when the value of a single Bitcoin hit $1,000 last month. Howells rushed to the local landfill, but was told his hard drive was buried under a mountain of garbage. “I’m just resigned to never being able to find it,” he said.
