dead beat
The Grönefeld One Hertz features "dead beat" seconds, meaning the seconds hand jumps from position to position rather than sweeping around the dial: bold because "dead beat" seconds are closely associated with quartz watches and are fiendishly difficult to develop for a mechanical watch.
This movement is also called (in fancier French) seconde morte (dead second) and jumping seconds. Rolex marketed a watch with dead beat seconds called the Tru-Beat to doctors in the 1950s, ostensibly to make it easier to take pulses.
