PEOPLE BEING PEOPLE

A thief was allegedly identified in Arizona after authorities ran prints on a severed finger he left at a crime scene. Police said Joshua Goverman, 29, was trying to steal a spool of copper wire from a truck when his finger became tangled in the cable, and was sliced off. Detectives traced the digit to Goverman, who told friends he’d lost it while trying to fix a car. “Joshua’s finger had its own version of the story to tell, and pointed Joshua directly to jail,” said a police spokesman.
