National Preparedness Month is held each September to encourage Americans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. This year’s theme encourages people to “Get a kit, make a plan, be informed, get involved.”
Do you know how to prepare your house for a hurricane or flood? Do you have a basic emergency supply kit? Do you and your family members have a plan for contacting each other in case of an emergency?
Only you can answer these questions and develop a plan to suit your family’s unique needs. To help get you started, you can download templates at www.ready.gov.
